We have seen lives transformed like that of our recent graduate, Msindisi. He grew up in
a very dysfunctional family with an absent father and a mother battling addictions. As a
teen, he fell in with the wrong crowd and went to jail for stealing a cell phone. But, the
Lord got hold of his heart in prison. He came out headed in a different direction, yet still
harboring anger and determined to fight his battles alone.
Last year, Msindisi participated in one of our journey groups at a local church and began to
ask different questions about life and where he was headed. Then he came to our
residency program where God continued His work of transformation.
On Monday, we had the joy of watching him work with disadvantaged children through a
ministry of City Mission in a farming community. For 35 minutes, Msindisi led 40 boys in
games and physical activities creating a space of fun and safety.
He has knack for making kids feel seen and valued, something most of them never
experience at home. Those gifts help to open hearts to the gospel and the experience of
God’s love.
Later, we talked with one of the ministry leaders who shook our hands and thanked us for
the work we are doing. She has noticed a dramatic change in Msindisi’s life and the impact
it has on ministry.
